Life can feel overwhelming at times. You might be struggling with anxiety, low mood, depression, grief, stress or other challenges in life.
Therapy is a place to be yourself and look at your thoughts and feelings. With the right support, you can start to understand what is going on, process difficult emotions and make changes on your terms to enhance your wellbeing.
In our confidential, calm space, you will not be judged or feel pressurised. You will be treated with respect, compassion and empathy whatever your background or identity. Here you will be seen and heard.
Together we can build a trusting, honest relationship to explore your problems and help you to move forward whilst developing strategies to help you in the future. You are in control of the pace and direction which will be focused on you (Person Centred).
Pre-Bereavement (Anticipatory Grief) can feel unreal, confusing and isolating. It may be hard to know where or how to start talking. It may be that you are caring for a loved one, or coming to terms with a terminal diagnosis yourself. Perhaps you want to protect family or loved ones from your real emotions.
Counselling offers a quiet, supportive space to explore your feelings, fears and thoughts honestly as you prepare for what lies ahead.
Following the loss of a loved one, expected or unexpected, life may seem impossible. Grief is a normal reaction to loss. It does not follow a pattern or time-line and is individual to everyone. Our mind, body and heart become affected as we experience physical, emotional and mental symptoms.
In therapy, we consider the impact of your loss, as we gently build life around your loss in your terms and at your pace.
The loss of an animal can leave us devastated as the absence of a much loved, trusted and constant family companion hits home. Our pets can be taken from us in many ways other than death, for example a relationship breakdown, disappearance or if a dog reaches their end of service.
The loss can affect us physically, mentally and emotionally. In a study, more than 50 % of people said that their experience of losing their dog was similar or worse than the loss of a family member (Dogs Trust*).
Your grief is real.
In therapy, we respectfully and sensitively honour that important relationship as we find a way forward.

Grief is not always about death and can relate to other life losses, such as health, relationships, work, safety and self esteem.
Together we can gently explore your story, what you are feeling and begin to connect you with life and meaning to find your way own terms, even in the deepest loss.
